I recently have a bearing break down. The bearing was gone and can't see anymore grease. I went to the nortern tool as suggested by the members here and replace both side of the hubs. The one side of the hub that is no broken, I noticed water in the bearing when i replace it. I wonder how water goes in and the seal seem ok. Some friend suggest it might cause by the type of grease I used. I use the marine grease i got from walmart, are those grease ok for use? or is that any good grease I should be using with the trailer bearing?

Only two ways for water to get in. Either through the cap or the seal. Are there grooves or pits in the seal surface of the axle. That can allow any seal to leak.

Grease is grease. No grease works well when water mixes with it. Mixing grease types can be bad too.

If grease had leaked out, it will leave a void (air space).
Then when the warm bearing is submerged in the cool lake water, it will draw water in.
