I have an 88 omc cobra 5.7 ive fried 2 coils in less than 20 hours. This is what i know. I have a prestolite dizzy with a pertronix kit installed. I did the diode fix to correct est issue. Factory coil died before est fix. The accel died after. Both were 12v coils. I get 12v at coil while running through factory alt resistor wire. What gives? Anyone had this issue?
