What could cause my motor to run 6,000 RPM? The factory spec is 5,200. Am concerned I may fry powerhead if I push it past 5,200. Help appreciated.

Thanks!

Tach might not be 100% accurate...

Might need a higher pitch prop...

Your max HP and or reccomended cruise RPM might might be 5200 RPM but that doesnt mean you have to stop it there. There is plenty of useful HP after that. You don't have a rev limiter on your motor. My Merc lives at 6000 until my tank is dry.

Yours is not a force..would never spin those up to 6000....find the pitch and step up...for every inch you go up 200rpm will come down..i.e. running 17 go to 19 and you will lose 400 rpm...they becomes a point to where you go to big and your motor can't spin it..try and borrow props or you will end of like some of us with 20 props on the shelf..LOL
