Why does this forum remove prices from posts???

Why does this forum go back and remove any prices that are posted in the posts? This can be very useful information. It wouldn't seem to be illegal if it is individuals posting what they paid for particular items at various merchants. Thanks for any replies.

I made note of this in my fiberglass part post. Everything shows up fine as you write it but when you post the dollar sign and all dollar digits before the decimal are eliminated. The following will be ten dollars and twenty cents.

In the "Edit" window,... I See my post,......
And,... Yes there IS a Dollar amount listed in the Posts............

I bet That's what's blocking my Posts,.........

I would guess so noone can post a price AND because a certain 4 letter word is spelled whith a dollar sind followed by _hit and so is ***hole ...... you get the idea.

I guess we can say 4.50 is what it cost bla bla bla

You can get around this...<p>

To make a "$", switch from bbcode to html, then use "& #36;". Take out the space between & and #.<p>

If you want to see a price that has disappeared all you have to do is click on the quote button. Also works for words like ****. d

How convenient that none of the iboats staff has piped up to explain their ridiculous sensoring...

I would assume it's a security feature (perhaps recently implemented due to a new exploit). In programming, variables are often preceded with a dollar sign. Perhaps there's an exploit out that lets one insert values into the forum software by using variable names in a post. Could be a bug in the software. Something to that effect anyway. I doubt anyone's censoring anything.

We are not censoring anything but vulgarities/offensive language.
the programming language this forum is written in uses the dollar sign to denote a variable. it seems to be an issue with the forum software,.
this hasn't been brought up before,. but i am going to fix it right now.
