Why dont we fight back??

Why are the minority taking over the morale values of our great nation?? When I say minorities I dont mean race. Majority of Americans believe in God and yet we are letting the minority push God out of public life. Most Americans beleive Prayer in Public school is a good thing.Yet the minority is taking that away everyday. Most Americans believe in the Pledge to the Flag in school.Once again the minorities are chipping away. Most Americans believe that marrige should be between a man and a woman. Most Americans believe that homosextuality is wrong. Most Americans believe in celebrating christmas , yet there are some schools in our country where the word christmas is not allowed. Everyday I see the morale values that our country was founded on slowly erroded by the minority. Why arent we fighting back?? When are we going to say Enough is Enough?? I am not talking about overthrowing the government or organizing malitias. I am talking about doing the same thing the minority has done to errode our social fiber. Let our voices be heard as one to our political leaders. I believe the politicians only here loud voices wich the minorities have done. We continue to sit back and watch the TV in disbelief when we here these crazy court rulings. Well my friends if we just continue to sit back and watch........

At one time, most Americans believed that: People who didn't own land shouldn't be allowed to vote. Non-white persons were inferior and shouldn't be allowed to vote. Slavery was an appropriate status for Africans and their descendants. Persons of differing skin tone shouldn't be allowed to marry. Women were too fragile emotionally and morally to be allowed to vote. White Americans were entitled by the concept of "Imminent Domain" to steal homelands from other cultures, to lie, to make and break treaties as convenient and in many other ways commit genocide and culturecide on native cultures to satisfy greed and avarice. Most Americans have been wrong before, can be wrong now, and may be wrong in the future. The main difference between a pure Democracy and our Constitutional Republic is that The Constitution is the product of wise men who knew that and built in ways to correct laws and practices that require what "most Americans believe" if it happens to be wrong. That has not happened in the case of "Imminent Domain" or freedom from a state religion. I have no objection to persons of faith praying or acknowledging their faith in any other way anywhere and anytime they choose. I have objections to that prayer or other religious ritual being an official requirement and intolerance of those who choose not to participate. I think this must be the fourth or fifth time I have said the above, in response to one more TROLL.

Ouch, A TROLL, Kinda harsh language coming from the moderator. Every poll I have seen on these topics have shown a majority of Americans believe this way. I was wondering why we dont speak up?? Probably because when we do the minority jumps out hard to quiet us so they can continue there agenda. Case in point.^ Of course Americans have been wrong in the past. But we didnt get to be the worlds only superpower by being wrong about everything.

Everyone needs to vote. And vote for the good of the country. Not for what will make your particular group more powerful. It would be nice to have more then a two party system. "None of the above" would be a nice addition to a ballot. Since we have the best government money can buy, I'd kick them all out. You, you and you, could do better.

Let me point out this wasnt a post from a religous nut. I dont go to church but twice a year and that is when the wife drags me there. My point is that most Americans share a common set of values, not exact, but common and I see these "In Your face" groups changing our country that flies in the face of most Americans. Just because these groups are organized and loud doesnt mean that the values most Americans hold are bad or should be stomped out.

dam boatingfool, you really write a killer post maybe its a troll, and i believe in JB's abilities here, whether i like it or not, i honor his position. i've also gotten some disciplinary remarks from him, so with that said: i think i will always feel this kind of topic should be in the forefront of community discussions. it may not always be allowed, but it will hopefully be continuing.

ok, the previous post is not what i thought i would encounter here. but there were alot of 'hot' topics, including politics & religion being posted, and i felt like it should not be happening here. i just wanted this little forum to be for enjoyment. but i guess it didn't fall into the confines i expected. so its up to the mods to limit the discussions here. in the past, many a flaming hot topic got posted, so i try to follow the flow within the current limits now.

i used to be against all 'hot' topics, basically no politics or religion. but we go over it all

Not refering to ebb) You cant talk God because it offends me. You cant talk pledge to the flag because it offends me. You cant talk christmas because it offends me. You cant display anything that offends me but I can say and do what I want regardless on wether or not it offends you . Well you know what, You kissing your "partner" in front of my children offends me. Watching you burn the American Flag offends me. Going to my Childs school Christmas Play and not hearing or seeing the word christmas once in the entire school offends me. Not because I am religous but because Christmas is as much a part of America as Apple pie. And to try and pretend its not offends ME . But I'll be shoved in the corner and made to feel a TROLL because of my idea of America.

A crucial point is being overlooked here (especially JB) These issues are being thrusted on an unwilling populace, not by their duly elected legislators, JBBBBBBBBBBBB, but via legislation from the courts. In the past, legitimate wrongs were corrected by legislation and BACKED UP by the courts. These minority whackos can't get their philosophies legislated so they are now relying on the courts that were packed by the likes of Bill Clinton et al.

no rage filled response here gang honestly, the chit that this country is rapidly becoming is draining me, the upright people who come from the stock that fought AND DIED in the wars for democracy and freedom are being ruled by first generation immigrants, who with a keen eye for draining the systems set in place for an initial boost and wind up bloodsucking it dry, are in their ample free time finding ways to coeerce the govt to change the rules so that the customs of other countries are allowed to have precedence over our own. I am agnostic, I do not know for sure if there is a God, or if there is a supreme being, whether he/she /it is an omnipotent, omnicient being or merely an otherworld scientist tweaking an ongoing experiment, which we may very well be However if my child wishes to pray to a God, her God, whatever she concieves her God to be, then she is ABSOLUTELY entitled to that right, and no johnny come lately off some leaking tramp steamer or some other floating shoebox filled with goldbricking chit is going to have the power to tell her otherwise. luckily, a few dinosaurs such as myself still exist, people who believe in an America for Americans. Liberals, whining, turn the other cheek, gee I guess its not fair to let American kids pray to God while poor Lumumbawumba Ali Mustafa cant pray to his chicken bone talisman, Pyang Goo Ked cant pray to budda, lets just make it all equal liberals, are paving the way for a neutered, pacifist citizenry on the rise, the kids of 2033 will look at old money, and say, paternal unit (mom and dad will be considered too American, like Apple Pie, which will be called Baked Apple in Crust), what does this mean, IN GOD WE TRUST? This i the second time in two days JB has responded to this typeof post, calling it a troll. Wel JB, if you think it's a troll, don't get hooked and pulled in.....sheesh....how hard is that. I have posted opinions that were thought to be trolls on several occasions, and therein is part of the problem that this thread examines. My opinion is a troll to you....therefore discounted as rubbish and I am a religious wacko right? Fine, but in a world where my values are being flushed down the toilet before my eyes, I feel duty bound to be a voice for certain issues. It's called integrity where I come from. Are there some topics are that will be banned from the forums?? Or maybe the topics can stay as long as no one dissagrees with them?? Should we all join hands and Kum BiYa (sp?) for the newly married gay couple, the flag burners, the God haters et al??

Hmmm. I really do not understand why people cannot understand this. We have a bill of rights to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. May I suggest: If you wish to pray, go ahead and pray all you want, anywhere you want, to anyone you want. All I ask is that you not attempt to force or coerce me to pray with you If prayer in schools is that important to you, send your children to religious schools. I don't want to influence your religious beliefs in the least, and support the tax free status of all recognized religions and religious groups. I would prefer you leave me alone with my beliefs, such as they are, and it is irrelevant whether or not my beliefs are a majority view or a minority view--It is why the constitution is there to protect my beliefs.

is the idea of the same God that this country was founded under now held in the same light as slavery and giving women the power to vote? God may not be in the Constitution, but as Descartes might have said, Clearly and distinctly, God was part and parcel of the founding tenents of this country I would still love to know what JB would say to his great grandkids when they ask what does (or rather, what did IN GOD WE TRUST mean?

If prayer in schools is that important to you, send your children to religious schools.

It isnt that important to me. What bothers me is the fact it cant be done. For years now prayer in school has been an option. But that wasnt good enough for some. Now they cant use the word prayer when praying, no matter to whom it is they are praying. Protect the minority from tyranny?? Kids in school cant put on a Christmas play. What a tyranny it would be if that happened. Saying the pledge, Again tyranny?? Give me a break.

What about my freedom of speech?? Only if the minority wants to hear it?? Is someone truly offeneded or feel opressed if the word God is mentioned?? No. If they are, get over it. I hear things that offend me everyday. But I dont try to stiffle them. This is suppose to be America where all views are tolerated. These new values( if you want to call them that) offend me. But you see the difference between us and them is I am willing to co exist with them. I would not have as much a problem if they would except my views. But they will not.
