Re: Why High School Students are required to tuck in their shirt tails

While I feel the reasons are good, I think the video may represent things beyond what could actually happen.......<br /><br />1. Could that student have been able to walk with out guns falling out, or even sit down? To me it seems as though he would not be able to realistically hide those guns, as walking or sitiing wouldve been a dead giveaway.<br /><br />2. The guns in his front pockets could easily have been placed there, with or without him tucking in his shirt.<br /><br />3. Most of those weapons could easily be brought in with a backpack or jacket.....the fact that his shirt was untoucked seems arbitrary.<br /><br />Like i said I semi see the point, but IMHO this video's representation on why shirts should be tucked in is clearly skewed to make their point.

The video looks edited into 3 segments there is no way he could haved walked to the table with all 12 wepons in his pants. I do agree with the policies of neat dress.

Reduce tensions between gangs... ???<br />Like gangs are supposed to be in schools??<br />I think he would have been better off with just one gun and the rest in ammo! :D

Must be a very early video of "Dirty Harry" when he was in school. What a punk! :D

Amusing vid, but I doubt that kid could walk more than a few steps before firearms started hitting the floor, let alone try and sit down. But I am sure it got the attention of more than one gun control advocate. FWIW I think schools should have the right to mandate minimum dress code standards. But I thought that before I viewed the video.

That video is a joke. No way you could get all that stuff to stay put and walk normal without loosing it. Just my opinion.

The video is a joke, i.e. bogus, because it mentions a dress code that prohibits the wearing of “gang colors”. One of the few good things the ACLU did was strike down the requirement of school uniforms and intrusive dress code restrictions. In America there are no restrictions on the wearing of “gang colors”.

And when there is a school shooting guess who throws a "Civil Liberties" party?<br /><br />Sorry 18R, I am normally in agreement with you, but this is just plain stupid. Prohibiting a certain dress, or requiring a certain standard of dress is not an infringement on your civil rights. Or would you like your neurosurgeon to keep hiking his baggy pants up throughout your brain surgery? I think I'm starting to see the problem with the liberal left.<br /><br />I doubt the validity of the amount of firepower that this student could have practically brought into the school but this video shows what types of guns could be snuck in, not necessarily the amount. And it only takes one gun and one bullet to end someone's dreams.<br /><br />And just to make it clear, my wife and I are supportive of uniforms at our daughter's charter school. They don't have them yet but we would certainly support the effort to implement them. But as you all know, I am NOT a hard right conservative, nor a far left liberal, I'm generally just slightly left of center, and wisely VERY anti-bush.<br /><br />Good vid jtexas

At least he has his pants pulled up, for Pete's sake.......I gotta admit that I like the idea of a school uniform....I'm sure that statement will create a *hitstorm of controversy & probably been visited before, but due to ennui, I will start a topic......JK

Re: Why High School Students are required to tuck in their shirt tails

"Gang colors" in my school district refers to recognizable gang insignia and is not allowed. There is a procedure including some kind of parent voting whereby individual schools may adopt uniforms, although parents may "opt out" for their students in which case it defaults to the district dress code. Our junior high has a uniform (red, white or blue shirt and khaki pants or skirt). At least it puts the fashion angst off for two years.<br /><br />I don't know who made the video but I'm thinking it's a joke. I know I laughed out loud.
