Why so many different brand names in props?

Whys so many brands in props. Do their quality really differ that much. What would be they absolute best aluminum brand prop? I was going to get a solas prop. , is it a good one or low end. Thx

Because there are many differing opinions on propeller theory, design, and most importantly marketing. As for which is the best... Do you mean as in build/quality or performance? Almost all higher performing props are Stainless Steel. Myself I have no experience with Solas props, and since they are the sponsors of this forum...

I have gotten very good results from my 5.7 VP using Mercury Enertia, and OMC/BRP RAKER props

Why are there so many brands of boats, cars, TVs, shoes, soft drinks, phones, sunglasses, pizza, coffee, etc, etc, etc......

​Not all people want or need the same type or design of any product or object, so you have choices.

Because boaters preffer to go for alternative prop brands than going for OEM prop ones...

Matter of opinon I do like my old omc sst on my etec and also a close second is my solas amita.If they made a new saturn in 16p id be all over it.For my boat and motor combo 16 p is perfect in stainless .The number of boat and motor combos possible must be in the billions id imagine so theres a huge market out there for several prop mfg,s.My sst was reworked from 15 to 16p by my friend .Have a Happy 4th guys.
