1) The last person to change them used the wrong ones, not knowing?
2) The last person to change them used different ones, for some performance reason?
3) The engine has had some kind of work down that would require shorter plugs?
I've got the 1998 Mercruiser 350Mag that I was told is original. I'm changing oil and plugs and pull the first plug and it is a NGK something that is much shorter than the AC MR43T that is called for on the engine cover.
Could anything have been done inside the engine to require these shorter plugs?
Should I keep using them that length?
If it does require the longer ones as spec'd would that increase any performance going to that longer length?
Thanks everyone.
[edit]NEVER MIND, I now see that the extra length is outside of the engine and this would not protrude inside the engine any more than the short plugs.
