Not sure what the problem is. I have one of these that I mount up front near my bow seat and it works very well.

Describe how you have it mounted including the transducer. It sounds like the problem might lie in the mounting angle of the transducer.

On start up does it show the option for a diagnostic?

Mick

Hi mick the unit is mounted on dash transducer is to the left of prop at aprox, 12 to 14 inches away.At times it will show fish when in 3 or 4 feet of water, but indeeper water it will only show bottom of lake, exept for od intervels it will show fish. The diagnostic works. Thanks for the reply. J.C.

Hi JC. It seems to me that you need to get into the menu's and check for two things. One is sensitivity. It sounds as though you need to increase the sensitivity. I also wonder if you don't have the transducer mounted to close to the prop. I seem to recall that 15" minimum is recommended. Also you should make sure that it is not mounted in a high turbulence area, such as in back of a strake. This will contribute to false readings at any kind of speed. Also the angle of the transducer from the hull is important. I still have the manual for mine and if you want to contact me via email with your snail mail addy, I will be happy to copy it for you.

Mick

Make sure the transducer is shooting straight down and is in clean water, meaning no bubbles from bottom of hull. Then depending on how deep the water you're trying to see fish in is, it should just be a matter of playing with the gain and sensitivity, and zooming in. Good luck.
