Well NADA certainly isn't using "market data" to come up with those prices!
For this area (which is very harsh on marine engines) they're off by at least 60%.... can't touch a running engine here for anywhere near those prices.
To get a reasonable price on a running used OB here you pretty much have to buy a crappy boat with a good engine on it and part out the boat and trailer (then cut up and haul the hull to the landfill...) to recover some of your cost.
To get back on topic.... electric start only adds about 6lbs to that engine..
