I have a wierd problem on this good Evinrude 6HP. Motor as a decent compression #'s on both cylinders (85). Carb was re-built with a new kit including a float. It fires well on both sparks and they are new also.
SInce I test the motor in a big trash can, if there's only water 2-3'' above cavitation plate, it won't idle well and stall easy. And when the water level is well above cavitation plate, it idles good but if I give more throttle it hesitate? Is it because of the pression or the smoke? The motor cover is off also when running in the can. Is this normal?
My 7.5HP runs very good in it even at full rpm but they have a air box...
