with the kids for 5 days. Beautiful weather this weekend, clear skies, the sun's out, highs in the 60's. Second cup of coffee and heading out with a Montecristo #2 (from some island, south of Miami) to stare at the boat and figure out what to do first.

Flush and winterize?
Mount the new trim tabs?
Fix the chipped gelcoat on the keel?
Remove the boom-box the PO put in where the head is supposed to be?

I think it'll be the boom box first...coming to eBay soon. I've been curious to what he left of the plumbing when he took out the old head. Putting a new one back in for the kids.

Life is good, either way. Haven't had a weekend w/o wife and kids in...jeez, can't remember! My Montecristo is calling me...

Hmm... good weather, wife and kids are gone, and you haven't winterized yet..

Sounds like a weekend of boating to me! There will be plenty of crappy weekends to do the work on the boat. Go fishing/cruising, and have a fun bachelor's weekend (within limits of course :) ).

Damn...that was a good cigar.
I should clarify...it's already mostly put up already. Everything's out, cleaned and in the garage for the winter. Besides, they are predicting 20-30 MPH winds later this afternoon.

Gonna take the pooch for a walk and get going. I should post a picture of what the PO did...I'm still scratching my head...

Never mind that. I want to see a picture of the #2..!

Someone gave me one a few weeks ago. May have been the best cigar I've ever had.

Ok, so here's what the PO put in place of the head...

inside a closed compartment...

Ready for a new head...at least he left the plumbing in-tact:

But, more importantly...the compass heading BEFORE:

And after removing the giant magnets 3' away...

Yeah...gonna check and recalibrate that compass.
