WILL 140HP TNT FIT ON 115HP EVINRUDE

HI GUYS,<br /> I NEED HELP. I HAVE A 115HP EVINRUDE THAT HAS A BAD TNT W/ A SERIAL# 115799S I WAS TOLD THIS IS A 1978 ENGINE BUT I REALLY DON'T KNOW. I BOUGHT A TNT OFF E-BAY THAT SAID IT WOULD FIT THIS ENGINE. THE SERIAL# OF THAT UNIT IS 140843C. I ASSUME THE FIRST 3 #'S ARE THE HP, THE SECOND THE YR AND THE THIRD I DON'T KNOW. CAN ANYONE HELP W/#'S AND FITMENT???

The 115799S uses the older style PTT that has the lift rams outside of the transom brackets.<br /><br />The 140843C uses the new style PTT that fits between the transom brackets.<br /><br />Unfortunately the 115799S does not have the proper transom brackets (3 holes on each side to bolt on the newer PTT) to use the newer type PTT.<br /><br />Bottom line.... the PTT from the 140 will not fit that model 115 model.
