Will 1994 50hp trim work on 1988 48hp

Will the trim unit on a 1994 evinrude 50hp work on a 1988 48hp.
I read somewhere that it will not work with pre 89 motors.

You are right.
They are very different animals,besides the 1988 48 horse never was meant to be with tilt and trim.

I have a 1989 48 special and it has a weird tilt trim set up..kinda off to one side ....not mounted UNDER the pivot!!!
