Will '82Johnson 9.9 lower end fit on '80 'Rude 15hp ?

Weird story...short version is I found a low hours '80 Evinrude 15hp at a good price but it's a long shaft. I have an '82 Johnson 9.9 short shaft and would like to end up with a 15hp short shaft. So...can I swap lower ends?

Would that make it an Evinson or a Johnrude?

Try checking the parts numbers for the complete units HERE If they are the same they will swap.

If they do it will be a Bitsa because it'll be bitsa one and bitsa the other.
