Will a 1975 135hp powerhead fit on a 1983 115hp unit???

I have a 1975 135hp engine that runs real strong with good compression. Problem is, it does not have tilt and trim. I have a 1983 115hp with tilt and trim but it needs a rebuild. I was just wondering if I could replace the 115 powerhead with the 135 so I'd have a strong 135 with new style tilt and trim. Sounds a little crazy but might be easier than rebuilding the 115.

If I do rebuild the 115, I'd probably just try to hone and re-ring the pistons to see if that does it.

The blocks are different and will not swap between the exhaust adapters of the two engines. The bottom configuration of the blocks changed in 1978 when the V4 engines went to the dual thermostats. While the engines should bolt in place, the water passages won't line up properly.
