Will a 305 merc carb work on a 350?

Hello,
I did a fairly extensive search on the Web and on the forums here and could not find a definitive answer regarding my question. We purchased a boat with a 305 mercruiser that had a cracked block. We just picked up a running rebuilt 350 mercruiser for 700$. The guy says he thinks the carb might have issues. Our 305 carbuerator is a 4 barrell carbuerator with the same part number as the one on the 350. I know it will bolt on but is there any difference in jet sizes from the 305 to the 350? We would like to swap it out as I know the 305 carb is good. We will be also replacing the base gasket.

In most cases the jet size is different. What is the serial number of the original engine and what is the model number of the carb?

Or both engines if possible for possible comparison.

Picking up old cracked block from machinist tomorrow. 350 has tag on the valve cover but stamped serial number is mostly gone and not legible unless it's stamped on the casting somewhere. I will get carb numbers tomorrow. The number on the side of the carb was the same on both but there was a shorter number underneath that was different. If they are different jet sizes can they be swapped from one carb to the other? I will post all numbers tomorrow if they are there
