I have completed a serpentine belt conversion on my 1992 Volvo Penta 430 (4.3 V6). Previously, the engine had traditional V-belt.
This now means that the circulation pump is running counterclockwise. It is the original pump. Are the older pumps designed for that?
I have actually already tested the boat, and the engine is not overheating. Actually it is running colder than last season, but I have also welded a new thermostat housing, so that issue could lie there. The engine is fresh water cooled.
Anyway, the question is, does it matter which way the older circulation pumps turns?
