I have an 88 sportcraft 242. Where the stringers meet the transom, the bottom of the stringer is notched and hole is cut in the fiberglass skin to allow water to drain from the outside cell between the stringers and hull into the bilge area. Of course sportcraft didn't deem it necessary to re-seal the stringer after the hole was cut so I have cut back the fiberglass as big as the notch and sealed the stringer with resin. I can only get to one side of the stringer (bilge side). I was considering foaming in a piece of pipe, then laying mat and resin on the foam to seal up the bilge side exept for the drain pipe. Will epoxy resin stick to flotation foam? Or do you have a better idea.
