Will get coat stick/adhere to duralux??
Im in the middle of grinding down my fiberglass jetjon I built a year ago and want to gelcoat the sides and bottom of the boat but am concerned that I must grind threw all the duralux that I had rolled on a year ago...

Any help would greatly be appreciated!!

I just looked up duralux and it loks like most of their stuff is epoxy based. Gel coat is poly based and poly doesn't adhere very well to epoy. If you are really wanting to gel all the paint will more than likely need to come off.

every thing comes off.... right down to the bare fiberglass.....

otherwise , you are risking doing a big job, all over again.

Yes you have to remove all coatings down to Gel or glass .. whichever the case may be. ( do you have gel under the Duralux product ? )
