Will heat speed up 5200 cure time?

If I use a hair dryer on 3M 5200 will it speed up the cure? It's not thick at all. The tube says 48 hours for tack free & 7 days for full cure. I did do the repair already (on the hull), let it sit for a few day's & then took it out for a leak test. It worked fine. What I found later was that some of the 5200 was scraped off by the bunk. Other repairs I've done with the 5200 around the cap seam last year are hard as a rock. Can I speed up the cure with the heat or will that slow it down? This 2nd try at the repair is not as thick as the first time (really doesn't need to be that heavy of a bead anyway), I just want to splash it as soon as I can, don't want to wait a full week, but if I have to I will. What do you think? Tanx, MAXX

Don't think heat will help. It is a moisture cure. It will stand water right away if there is not something rubbing on it. There is a fast cure version if you can find it.

What were you repairing ? .. if it was a bottom 'repair' your using the wrong stuff lol..

Cant use 5200 for scrapes and dings and stuff.
