WILL IT FIT ! HELP

what i need to know is will a prop shaft out of a 93 120 hp v4 part no.389718 fit my <br />78 85 hp v4 evinrude part no.387818 is this the same part with a superceded part no. the guy says it will fit but i cant afford to buy it and it not fit the wife already says i spend to much on the boat lol please help!<br />thanx guys

If you use the shaft from a 1993 120 / 140TL with the "S" suffix (part number 387818 also) it will work. Basically the propshaft bearing carrier is held in with 4 screws just like on your 85 HP. 387818 superseeds to a 436888. <br /><br />Are you buying a used one out of a gearcase or are you trying to order a new one? <br /><br />Good luck!

it is a used propshaft. the only one i have found it is guaranteed to be in manufactures<br />runout specs it still has the clutch dog on it and if it will fit i can get it for about 50 bucks

That's a good deal if it's the right one. When buying used parts it's a good idea to have yours out to compare. If you remove the clutch dog make sure you replace the retainer spring. <br /><br />Good luck!
