hello i was just looking to repower my 90 115 hp evenrude due to a slight problem with a garbage bag my question is when i look up for a replacement power head it comes up from 110 to 140 hp will a 140 hp block fit on a 115 frame or mount in is same place if going to spend money why not just upgrade to more hp. and if so what is the diffrence

Any V4 crossflow powerhead from 1979 & up is a direct bolt on replacement. On some early models (79 to mid 80's) there may be a boss or two different but nothing you cant get around.<br /><br />V4 crossflows from 1978 with powerheads from 25" motors will bolt on but the crank has a smaller middle main. Same for any 1978 140.<br /><br />The by-pass coves will vary too but you can always use yours on the new powerhead.<br /><br />Just dont get confused and think a 140 looper will fit.

V4 loopers started in 1985 and were 120 and 140 hp. After 1985 no crossflow was rated at 140.<br /><br />What you have (1990 115) is the same as the older 140. If youre going to order one just order that. They were the same from 1990 to 1998.
