Hi <br />Can anyone tell me if lower units from these engines will interchange:<br />>1978 Evinrude 70HP 70873C<br />>1980 Evinrude 70HP E70ELCSA<br /><br />Or, does anyone have a used shaft and bearing housing. (shaft #389507) (housing #317205-3)<br /><br />Thanx

Yes they will interchange. The only POSSIBLE difference is the shift linkage on the side of the block. IF they are different just keep the linkage with the lower and all will work. <br /><br />I'll look it up in the parts deal later and let you know for sure, but I think the linkage is the same on those two.<br /><br />I'll get back to ya later!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Yes, they both shift the same. You should be all set. <br /><br />Darn work keeps getting in the way.........
