I have a 1975 model 70 HP Johnson Electric Starte OB. I need to change the powerhead out. I have access to a powerhead that came off a 60 or 50 HP I think. The model number on this powerhead is 60ESL70D. Will this fit on my 70 HP. It appears to be the same PHead?????Thanks

The mounting bolt pattern is the same and I believe both use a 4 spline driveshaft. You will have to fabricate some sort of mount for your shift lever and related linkage. <br /><br />If you are changing the powerhead and want to put your ignition system on there may be some bosses that are different especially to mount your coils on that old style head.<br /><br />If you are going to used the complete dressed 1970 powerhead, keep in mind you are going back to that old style battery CD ignition.
