I have A 1975 150 H.P. inline 6. The SS prop is off of A 115 H.P. Mercury I dont know the year model. The splines are the same but it is A little deeper and I can only get the prop nut 1/2 way on! Will it work ? Is there A long and short shaft that takes diffrent size props? I was told that they were all the same. both props are 19p's.

What is the thrust bushing? And where does it go?

The thrust bushing goes on the prop shaft before the prop is put on. If it is too thin, your prop will rub the lower unit. If it is too thick, you won't have enough threads for the prop nut. I'll attempt to find a picture of what I'm talking about for you. Meanwhile, if you have access to a good prop shop, they should be able to furnish you with the right one. Or maybe someone else here has a link to what I'm talking about.
