Will power trim fit.

I have a 1984 70 hp Evinrude without power trim and I found somebody selling a power trim that came off a 1985 120 hp Evinrude. Does anybody know if it will fit my motor and if I had to rebuild it, would it be worth it. He wants about $250.

you can go here, and follow prompts to both engine, http://www.evinrude.com/en-US/Accessories/Literature/ , i did the hydrolics are the same part # so should be a direct match. besure to get all of it, including the electrical part of it. is it worth it, imho, more than worth it.

Evinrude doesn't cover anything under 1997. Is a power trim easy to rebuild or should I let a pro do it. Are rebuild kits expensive. My local marina has a rebuilt unit for $700 but thats a little much for me. These are Canadian prices BTW.

i've never had to do one, so i don't know. here's a link follow the prompts, to your engine, then the t&t. take a look are the diagram. you decide.

If it works and comes with the relay box $250 is a good deal.
I bought one off e-bay and paid around $350 with the electrical.
Generally the hydraulics are pretty reliable, the motors and relays are usually the wear items but they also last quite a while.
