Will this dual battery diagram work?

I have a selectable 12 or 24 volt trolling motor that I am wanting to use with my dual, starting and accessories battery set up with battery isolator. The trolling motor will be ran 99% of the time on 12 volts from the accessory battery with 24 volts only being used to occasionally double the thrust for emergency maneuvers.
If I add a diode to the yellow "24 volt jumper wire" will this diagram work without any short circuits under all possible operating conditions?
I don't have a diagram to show the internal wiring of the trolling motor, but might be able to find it online if it is necessary.

You have a short circuit with your house battery...even with the diode in there.

Of course you don't show which way you have the diode pointed. In one direction you have a house battery short and the other you don't get ypur 24V...take your pick.

I was afraid of that, it would be pointed in the direction to give the house battery a short. Any suggestions on a way to wire it so that it would work?

Not easily.

You really don't want to run your trolling motor off your start battery anyway do you? Get a third battery that is the same as your house and keep them both isolated from your engine's alternator and charge them when you get home with a dual battery charger.

Or just run the trolling motor off of 12V and forget about 24V.
