I have a 1972 Johnson 100hp motor currently with a hydroelectric shift lower unit with no reverse. I guess the clutch dog and reverse gear are most likely worn out. So I was looking on good ol' ebay for a used lower unit and came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&tc=photo&item=4552563448&category=26455

Is there a chance this will fit my motor? Does it matter that it's an electromatic and what I have is a hydroelectric? Better yet maybe someone has a line on, or has on hand a good used reverse gear and clutch dog for my motor. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Contact tcoutboard.com. They'll probably have a lower unit that actually is for your outboard, and it won't be broken like that eBay one. I wouldn't buy that one on eBay on a bet, and it might well not work on your model at all.

If you're going to fix it, fix it right. The one I saw on eBay is junk.

All I needed to know thanks tons! I'm going to contact tcoutboard.com and see what they've got. Maybe they have a good used reverse gear and clutch dog instead of the whole unit (although the whole one would be nice because my skeg is gone). Thanks again.
