Re: Will this prop physically fit my outdrive? pics
Alright grand wizards of the propeller, I need some more help. I went and picked up that Turbo prop last night for $100. This guy was adamant that he bought it for his 135 hp mercruiser and used it for the summer. Then when he went to sell the boat, pulled it off and put the stock prop back on it. It came with a nut and some kind of spacer that he said goes on first then you slide the prop on. Also, the nut that came with it was a fine thread and mine is course thread. So removed my original prop, the small diameter thick washer and cone shaped spacer. Slid on the new spacer and the prop, no good, back of prop rubs housing. So I slid everything back off, put original spacer back on, can't remember if I put on the small diameter thick washer, the new prop with lock washer keeper, lock washer and original nut. Everything seems to fit ok and spin nicely but it seems like there is a little bit more gap, compared to the original, between the housing and prop at the back. I am concerned with ventilation. Here is a pic, I don't know if it really shows it correctly.
I have an old 100 hp tower of power lower unit in my garage. I took the nut off of it and the new nut the guy gave me fits it and I noticed some similarities between the tower of power prop and my new turbo prop. Makes me wonder.
Anyways, here is the #'s off of the Turbo prop in case maybe somebody has a catalog they can look them up in to see for sure if this is the correct prop for my outdrive.

A set of the original instructions would be great also.
I searched the internet and found nothing.
