Will this work?

I found this tachometer http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=37068&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults at bass pro shops and I wondered if it would work with my 1977 Mercury 70 hp (newer powerhead with powerpack unsure of year). It puzzles me that there is no selection for either mercury or johnson so does that mean that it is a universal tachomiter?

This will most likely work. It should have adjustable pulse switch on back. You need to find out exactly what year your powerhead is. If you call BPS they can tell you if it will work for you.
