Will volvo penta SX-A lower leg fit an SX-M upper drive?

My lower leg is goosed (SX-M 1.60) case cracked shaft bent & beyond economic repair. I can pick up a SX-A lower leg 1.66 seems fairly close in terms of ratio, my question is, would an SX-A lower leg fit the SX-M upper drive?
My drive no is 3868068
Any other options???

I was trying to search this for you but the only thing I came up with are ebay listings for replacement SX-A lowers which state they are NOT compatible with the older SX drives. Sorry..I'd suggest lurkiing on craigslist and look for rotten boats which are being parted out for their outdrives. Recently I purchased an entire SX outdrive for $150.
