Winch hooks

Anyone else despise those fat forged winch hooks that come on the flat winch straps? They won't even fit in the bow eye of some smaller boats, especially if you use a safety chain shackle also in the bow eye. I prefer the s hook type with keeper, but they are hard to find or you have to rig your own.

You also have to be carefull with some of the import crap as those hooks are just cast potmetal and will not hold very much. I have some older hooks from days gone by that I still use today because you just can't trust some of the junk on the market today, however it is "cheap"......
