Greetings all,
Just want to share some good info. I have a horizon/simpson 500 windless on my 1997 29' I/O Larson. I was having trouble with the 12v motor operation last season. Over the winter I took it apart and I could see the motor was a mess from the years salt water operation. A replacement motor cost $300.00 and a new windless cost $600.00 So I went to my local starter rebuilder and he's able to rebuild just about any 6v,12v,36v,48v motor. He charged me $80.00 and it operates like new again. A few years ago he rebuilt my mercruiser starter which cost me $85.00 It never failed on me. His name is Steve and he's located in Oceanside,NY
