Windsheild Issue 2007 Legend

I have a new-to-me 2007 Legend 18ft with a full windshield with a walk through opening. The glass curves around to the side of the boat very nicely. When I picked up the boat, the glass on the port side was out of the rubber gasket all along the bottom. I pulled the glass and the gasket out, put the gasket back on the glass and was able to get it all back into the track at the bottom. It looks like there is a small amount of black rubber or silicone at the bottom of the track.

When I start pounding larger waves I'm worried this will just pop out again. Should I put some adhesive in the bottom track to hold this in, and what kind of adhesive do you recommend?
