Windshield Adhesive?

The windshield on my step-mother's 18' Excel has come loose from the deck underneath. There are no screws or bolts on the lower portion of the windshield frame, so I guess it was secured by adhesive alone. Can anyone here suggest what type of adhesive to use to re-attach the windshield frame to the boat?
Thanks,
pjr

Re: Windshield Adhesive?

Give us some help. Is this windshield straight across, curved around the side, or what? I can't believe a windshield frame is glued to the boat. Is the design such that securing the windshield at the sides is sufficient to hold it in place and that those bolts haven't come loose allowing the windshield to become unsecure.

Re: Windshield Adhesive?

I too find it hard to believe that a windshield is held on with adhesive. I just did reasealed the windshield on my bowrider, along the outside of the bottom frame piece was a black vinyl trim strip that had to come off and behind were the mounting screws that went down into the deck at a slight angle. These screws were approx every 6 in apart, the only visible ones were at the very end of the frame on the side.
