Does anyone know how to bend a piece of Aluminum C- channel around the top of a new plexi glass windshield. There are radius curves on each end.

Heat is used to bend aluminium but, how to bend it correctly I don't know.

I believe you need a proper tool and press to do what you need. I've seen it done at windscreen factories before.

cheers

Sorry for being too lazy to post the link, but there is a great article out there about how to make your own windshiled, frame and all (I think it was on the glen-l site)

Anyways, to bend Aluminum, you must anneal it. make a really rich flame with an oxyacetlyene torch and heat the metal. Then after it is all sooty, lean the flame to normal (or switch to a propane blow torch) and heat the metal red (from one end to the next) carefully as this is close to aluminum's melting temp. Then it should bend nicely
