So there has to be a secret I am missing when it comes to getting the gasket to stay in place on the windshield while it is being installed. I tried to put the gasket on before mounting and that did not work the gasket will not stay on. I tried to put the windshield in place then the gasket and that did not go well. What am I doing wrong?

I suppose it depends from the various types of windshields, but what I did with mine was put the glass in then use a plastic trim tool to hammer in the gasket, maybe lubricate it with a bit of silicone paste to make it easier.

409 works as a lubricant that doesnt get the boat messy like silicone, P80 or KY does.

I wish the problem was that it is too tight, the gasket does not stay in place as I work my way from one side to the to other. It is a vintage plastic windshield.
