Windshield support not right...?

So I bought a 1999 Starcraft Starfire that is in decent shape. It's been crappy and snowy since I bought it, so I have yet to put it in the water.

The other day I noticed that neither of the windshield supports were attached. I don't know if a piece is broken off the bottom of the support arm that is supposed to fit into the piece at the bottom, or if this is the way they are supposed to look and maybe they just came apart some how.

Any ideas what is up?

The good news is you can buy them almost anywhere for about $20.00. Just make sure you get the right length. Come in 11, 12, 13, or 14 inch lengths.

Cheers and happy boating!

Thanks Thomw. I actually thought it was broken... but thought maybe there was a piece that went on the end of the support that fell off. I'll measure at home and buy this. I wonder if the "length" is the metal part of the length from end of rotating ball to the other.

Windshields are there to keep the air off your face. They are not handrails to go up in the bow, or to hold onto if you are standing up driving in heavy seas. That's why they break.
