The issue I have with the Wings is that they are so damned consistent throughout the team in their talent. I wish they only had a couple of hotshots and then third line support staff. Of course, I say this because I'm not a direct fan but I appreciate the skill they bring to the table in the game. They will still be a top contender going into the playoffs this year and a heavy favourite....still.
As for the Pens, they are still waiting to happen I think. They just picked up Bill Guerin who will add some consistent skill, maturity and muscle to the team to offset the younger guys who haven't fully got their 'game head' figured out for the upcoming playoffs. Malkin proved this last year...hopefully he will do better for them this year.
Short term, I will pulling for the Flames. I like their grit however I don't think they have what it takes to fully close the deal...yet, but you gotta cheer for someone right?
