I am looking for a low cost restorable late 1950s, early 1960s boat with tail fins or wings. Of course the bigger the fins/wings the better and the closer to Houston, Texas the better. I am not looking for a perfect boat just one worth restoring. I am on a limited budget (who isn't?) so free would be great but I am a realist and understand one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. I would prefer a smaller boat, 14' - 18', over larger, but will consider anything.
If you have something or know of someone in my area that may have what I am looking for, please let me know.

Thanks

Ivan Ogburn
aogburn1@houston.rr.com

Re: Winter Project Boat Wanted

I think that you are in a great area to find your dream project. The hurricanes have no doubt ruined a lot of equipment, made many spare parts available, and changed priorities of some people who may have that project already in their yard or garage.
I'd keep a look out around the Texas and Louisiana Coastal area newspaper ads and if possible, take a road trip with trailer attached and cash in hand.
I'm not advocating taking advantage of the hurricane victims in any way, but if my house or property was torn up, I'd be looking to unload my project boat in a heartbeat.
(BTW, it's not for sale...yet)
