Is it possible to blow the water out of the engine instead of filling it with antifreeze?

I have a 3.0 L inline 4 with alpha one drive in Massachusetts. I know I need to winterize the engine. We blow out houses and sprinkler systems with air all the time. Would this be easier than filling with antifreeze? There are also times when we get a warm spell late in the fall and I might want to go fishing. I'd hate to have to fill the engine up with antifreeze all over again if I went fishing in late October. Any thoughts?

I'm not an expert on winterization, but I know at least one member here believes in the "dry" method. Bond-o simply stores it dry. I don't know if he uses compressed air or not... I believe most simply open the drains and use a coat hanger or something similar to ensure that the water actually drains out and is not blocked.

if you add compressed air.....and the drain is blocked....it will still be blocked.
you have to stick a rod in there to drain the water.

you dont need to add the antifreeze......just leave the drains open.....if you go fishing...just close them.

when the snow hits the boat......then you need to do a full winterise ation.....they will post a sticky soon.

oops has it right.....

There is no under the dash easy button, just skip the antifreeze step and get it drained or trade in every year.

Ayuh,.... My more in-depth positions are stated in the thread linked by Eboater,....
You don't need compressed air,... Gravity does All the work as long as the drains are Cleared of debris....
I leave a SSteel deckscrew on my intake year round, just so it's Always there to poke the drains clear...
I also drain it. aka; Winterize it several times between October,+ when the launches freeze Solid, usually in December....
