'74 Johnson 135. What should I do before the freeze comes? Make sure there's no water and fog carbs? Or am I looking at an anti-freeze type of procedure like an I/O?

Thanks!!

Re: Winterize the 135?

Store the motor in the running position - they are self draining and require no anti-freeze.

Use plenty of aerosol fogging oil injected through the carburetors to protect the moving engine parts.

Grease all of the grease points as listed in the owner's manual and factory service manual.

Grease the steering ram and turn the engine so that the ram is withdrawn.

Grease the Tilt and Trim rams so that they won't corrode.

Lubricate the engine linkages.

It's best to store your batteries inside and recharge them periodically.

what exactly is this fogging oil you speak of?

thats all you have to do? no flushing with antifreeze or anything? A lot simpler than i thought it would be.

Fogging oil is a single purpose lubricant for protecting internal engine parts during storage. It's used on all types of seasonal use engines so it's available just about anywhere, including most hardware stores, automotive parts stores and marine stores.

BTW, If you are not using fuel stabilizer, you might want to add that to your shopping list.
