Generally speaking, most outboards will self drain when lowered to the fully down position. As for winterization procedures etc....did you not receive an owners manual with your brand spanking new Merc? Seems to me the best and most readily available advice to follow in this regard would be outlined in your new manual. <br /><br />Walt
