I already got great info from the FAQ on winterizing, still have a question. I know I need to stabilize the fuel and change the lower unit oil. As far as fogging the motor goes, I have 3 questions:

- I'm not able to get the motor back in the lake before putting it away. Is it just as good to spray the fogging oil into the spark plug holes instead of running the motor and spraying it into the intakes?

- if it's not as good, then is it ok to fog it while the motor is on muffs? Does it matter is the motor is heated up completely before it's fogged?

- this motor is new to me so I'm a bit nervous about using muffs on it...can someone confirm exactly where the water intake is on this motor and where to put the muffs?

thanks very much!

the muffs attach to the lower unit, just above the flat plat above the prop, there are slots on each side. this is where the motor picks up water.

Sorry to sound like a dummy here, I'm new at this....do the muffs go above or below the plate over the prop? My first guess would have been to put them over the holes just under the plate. Just to be clear I attached a pic of my boat with my guess at the intake circled....

thanks again

That is exactly where, moisten the muffs a bit, slide them over, turn on the hose, then fire her up. Just be sure to keep the rpms to under 1500, this is important.
