Hi All,

I'm a little new to the outboards, I have a 1994 Mariner Magnum 150 EFI, what is the proper way to store it for the winter??
The fuel injection thing is a new world for me..I 'm used to the old motors spraying fog oil into the carbs and letting them stall...
I am in Nova Scotia, Canada.. I will be stored outside in Sub zero temps..

Any help would be appreciated,

I have a 2004 Merc.150efi and to winterize I stableize the fuel, top off tank, (efi is a closed system)run till operating temp on muffs, pull plugs fog cylinders, grease any certs, lube any linkage, change out lower unit oil, touch up skag and any marks with paint.Take out all electronic devices in boat put in a few moth balls to help keep critters out, make sure plug is out.On the trailer I grease bearings ,loosen wench, loosen back straps, touch up paint, air tires. Being out side is hard on fiberglass but if you must make sure to raise bow jack to keep as much water out as possible. In the spring after first fire up I put new plugs in and save the previous years as spares. It's my first efi (new) and about the same as all the others I've had over the 30+ years that I've owned and 50+ I've been around boats. We've all got our little qurps on winterizing so go for it.

mxzer29, welcome to iboats. Nice to see another bluenoser on the forums (I'm from Cape Breton originally)

Paul covered it off perfectly.

The only thing I'd add is you may want to leave it on the muffs for a good flush and rinse any salt off it (inside the engine casing, etc) if you're running it in the Bras D'Or lakes or other parts of the Altantic to prevent any salt/corrosion.
