A year, model, motor, and outdrive would be helpful.

It is a 1980 260hp 26ft. It is staying at a slip and will not be pulled for winter. There is a heater that comes with the boat but I understand there may be a way to let all the water out of the engine while it is in the water.

You can get the water out by removing the Plugs in the water Jacket. should be one on each side of the engine. You will also need to get the water out of the manifolds. There should be a plug on the the backside of each manifold. Only problem is there will be water in places you can't get out. Water pump, raw water pump and other areas.

Is there a fresh water system on board, that needs to be drained, how about the head??
shop vac or compressed air works good to remove most of the excess water out of engine blocks.
