Winterizing but need to work on boat?

My >? is " needs outdrive and engine work.. dont really want to close it all off..since im sure he;ll need to run it. PS? should i change the engine oil.. now while still in the water or wait till work is done. Do i even need to? just changed it in sept.? thanks...

It's best to have your engine sitting for long periods of time with clean oil. Gets rid of most of the combustion acid etc. If it's going to be worked on withing the next month you could wait for the oil change and fogging. Draining the raw water system will prevent freeze damage.
