As for the electronics, your boat will be going through very wide temperature swings and even with "vented" shrink wrap, there is the possibility of a-lot of moisture. I don't know about your area, but here in Cincy, every year several boats get broken into durring winter storage. With the cost of some of the chart plotters, radar units, etc. I always feel much better knowing my stuff is safe and sound in my house. Is it necessary to remove, no, but it sure couldn't hurt.
As for the canvas, you are asking for mold and mildew if you shrink wrap over it. Any place the shrink wrap touches the canvas will trap moisture and that will lead to mold and rot. Canvas needs to breathe, it can't do that with plastic over it.

winterizing electronics

Some people suggest removal of all electronics from boat for winter storage. I always have my boat shrink-wrapped. Is there any real need of removing the electroncis? Also, what's your opinion of shrink wrapping over canvas? Is there any real reason to remove it before the shrink wrap process?
Regards
