The temperature is 45 degrees now, but it is supposed to get down to 25 tonight. Tomorrow there will be a low of 47. Do I need to winterize my boat tonight? Thanks.
Just make sure that you store the engine in the down position so you do not have any water setting in the lower unit!!

Thats it for now!

LubeDude
Well right now it's 1:17am in austin and I have 41* out side. I have not winterized the boat yet so I pulled it out of storge today and parked it in the drive way. Some one told me to put a lamp in the motor compartment to keep the temp up, so thats what I did ..

PS. I cant wait till this wind stops so I can go out to the lake.
Motor compartment? Because this is posted in the general outbourd section, I assumed it to be an outboard! If an inboard, I would drain the block just to be sure!

LubeDude
You and I BOTH can't wait for the WIND TO STOP!!!

I think it finally laid down this evening. I plan to head out on Wednesday.

As for winterizing, We hit 29* here in San Antonio last night. I just lowered my outboard so it was perpendicular to the ground, and made sure it was dry. I started it today at lunchtime and didn't have any trouble with it.

Shawn
